Registration Opens: February 1 – please use a valid email address.
Step 1: Visit the John Locke Website

Scroll down to find the message:
“Registrations are now open. Click here to register.”
Click “here” to go to the registration page.
Step 3: Register with Your Email
On the registration page, enter a valid personal email address to begin.
Registration is now open.

Registration Deadline: May 31 – submissions from students who have not registered before this date will not be accepted.
Step 4: Fill in Personal Information and Submit
You will need to provide the following details (some fields have drop-down menus):

How you learned about John Locke
Once complete, click “Create Profile” (purple button) to finish registration. You will be redirected to your personal information page, confirming that your registration is complete.
Essay Submission
Submission Deadline: June 30, 11:59 pm BST

Participants must be 18 years old or younger on the submission date

Junior Prize candidates must be 14 years old or younger on the submission date
Submission Procedure
File Naming Format:FirstName-LastName-Category-QuestionNumber.pdf
Example: Alexander-Popham-Psychology-2.pdf
Files not following this format will be rejected.
Referee & Email:
Participants must provide the email of a referee (a school teacher or other adult non-relative). The referee will verify the originality of the submission.
Submission is free of charge.
Late Submission
If you miss the June 30 deadline, late submissions are allowed under the following conditions:
